This Privacy Policy explains how Memoscope (the “App”) handles information. The App is developed and published by Busra Hekimoglu, an independent developer publishing as NoxTri (“we”, “us”). It applies to the App on iPhone.
Memoscope collects no data. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no crash reporting, no ads and no tracking. Your recordings, their sound maps and your clips stay on your iPhone, and the sound map is made on your iPhone too. Your audio never reaches us. The optional Memoscope Pro purchase is handled by Apple; we never see your payment details. App Store privacy label: “Data Not Collected”.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect, sell or share any personal data. The App has no accounts and no sign-in, and we run no server for it. The App does not send your recordings or anything about how you use it to us or to anyone else. That is why its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
2. Microphone
The App asks for microphone access the first time you tap Record, and it records only while a recording is in progress, until you tap the stop button; it does not record while paused. If the screen locks during a recording, the recording continues; the App uses iOS background audio for this. A phone call or Siri pauses the recording, and you choose when to resume. You can turn microphone access off at any time in iOS Settings › Memoscope; importing and playback work without it.
3. The sound map is made on your device
The sound map is made on your iPhone by Apple’s SoundAnalysis framework, which is built into iOS. Your audio is not sent to Apple, to us or to anyone else to do this. The map is just a set of time ranges in the recording, labelled music, talking or quiet.
4. Information stored on your device
The App keeps the following only on your device, in its own folder:
- the audio files you record;
- copies of the audio files you import or open in Memoscope from another app (the originals in Files or Voice Memos stay as they are);
- each recording’s title, date (for an imported file, the file’s creation date), length, sound map, waveform (the bars that show its loudness) and the tags you add;
- your clips: each one’s start, end, name and tags; and the moments you tap Mark while recording (also kept separately until the recording ends, so a recording recovered after the App closes keeps its marks);
- your Appearance (System, Light, Dark) and Language (System, English, Türkçe) choices in Settings, and whether you have seen the first-launch intro.
This data never leaves your device and we cannot access it. There is no cloud sync and no transcription in this version. Deleting a recording in the App (swipe left in the list) deletes its audio file, its map and its clips; deleting the App deletes all your recordings. If the App closes in the middle of a recording, the part already recorded is kept and appears as a “Recovered recording” the next time you open the App. If you back up your iPhone with iCloud Backup or to a computer, that backup may include your Memoscope recordings; Apple or your computer keeps it under your own settings, and we have no access to it.
5. Importing, exporting and sharing
Import opens the iOS file picker, and the App can read only the files you pick. An audio file you open in Memoscope from another app is copied into the App’s folder. Share recording, Share clip and Share all clips as one file create a new .m4a file in the App’s temporary folder; the original recording is not changed. That file leaves your device only when you pick a destination in the iOS share sheet, and what happens there is governed by that app’s or service’s own policy.
6. Purchases (Memoscope Pro)
The App offers one optional, one-time in-app purchase through Apple’s App Store (StoreKit): “Memoscope Pro”. Payments are handled entirely by Apple, under Apple’s privacy policy. We never see your payment details or your Apple Account; the App checks on your device, with StoreKit, whether you own Pro, and we have no server. StoreKit connects to the App Store to show the Pro price (when the App opens and on the Pro screen), to process a purchase and to restore it. Apart from this Apple service, the App makes no network connections, and this connection sends nothing about your recordings.
7. No analytics, ads or tracking
The App contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking tools. It does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, so it never asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass anonymous crash reports to us under its own privacy policy; they do not contain your recordings.
8. Children
The App collects no data from anyone, including children.
9. Your rights
We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You can delete your recordings at any time, one by one in the App or all at once by deleting the App. If you have questions about your rights under laws such as the GDPR or KVKK, contact us at the address below.
10. In the App
A short version of this policy is in the App under Settings → Privacy, and Settings and the Pro screen link to this page.
11. Changes to this policy
If the App changes in a way that affects your privacy (for example, if optional iCloud sync is added), we will update this page and the “Last updated” date before that change is released.
